Are you looking for quick dementia activities that can be used as filler?

Activities directors and other healthcare professionals here is a great dementia resource for caregivers and healthcare professinals,

Here is information on being the best
caregiver you can be

Here is a way for nurses administrators, social workers and other health care professionals to get an easyceu or two

Here are a few activities for those with dementia. In fact they could be used with any nursing home or assisted living crowd.
Always remember to adapt and modify your activities for the folks who are engaging in them.
Also if the activities are for dementia folks, make them success oriented and failure free
Dice Throw - Just throw for highest of 3 tosses.
Card Draw- Each person draws a card and the highest keeps em all
( a group version of war)
Subject Trivia- I have 3X5 cards with several trivia statements and
questions on a particular subject. It helps to have a picture too, or
a tactile aide of some kind.
Stretch Out- Lead the small group in some small stretching exercises ( these fit well on a 3X5 too!)
Keep them simple and slow, maybe the length of a taped song or two.
Alphabet Soup- I choose a subject and we try to name
one for every letter of the alphabet, or at least as many as we can. Popular ones
are: soup, pies, sandwiches, languages, fabrics, colors, holidays,
pick a catagory!
